...what week are we on? I'm home from work sick. Since I couldn't sleep anymore and I'm not very good at staying in bed I decided to upload, edit and blog my latest photos. I think I'm off by several weeks! How did that happen? Ugh!

I'm so excited for you; nothing like the smell and feel of a new car...and this one's a beauty! Good for you for choosing a hybrid; with as many miles as you drive each week, you're bound to enjoy a savings on gas. And I love the page. There's enough green to support your title but a nice mix of other colors to bring out that lovely color in your new car. Allowing the die cut to bleed off the edge of the page is very effective here. Two thumbs up!

Life has been entirely too crazy the last six weeks. I'm behind on my pages, late updating things here and just generally behind on way too many things in my life. But....optomist that I am, I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel. It could be a train but I hope it might be time to catch up. I owe plenty of e-mails and don't want to lose the connection I've made with friends here. Just hang in there with me...I hope to have things back under control soon.

I have posted blessings 37 through 40 and have the next few started. I'm so glad I decided to keep my pages all in the same format for this book. .It makes it easier to get caught up when I fall behind. I have so enjoyed doing these page & seeing everyone elses pages along he way. I think I may do another project next year. Not sure quite what yet...maybe just a photo a week glimpse at 2010. Or maybe a month recap with photos. Anyone have any good ideas?

Love your sentiment here; we all should count those who serve our country among our blessings. And having a peek into your daughter's military life via some photos is a blessing, too. When I look at that photo, I see lots of straight lines so I like that you chose some curved ones in your paper and embellishment choices. It's visually very pleasing. Lovely page.

What an awesome page! I love the photo of your daughter in all her military gear, and you've made such smart choices in the colors and design elements you've chosen...they compliment is perfectly. You have every right to be proud of her...heck, I'm proud of her, too! This might be my favorite of all the pages you've made.

It's so fun to see your pages, Donna. They're colorful and filled with interesting shapes and texture...a delight for the eye. Red and black is such a striking color combination and you've used it well; it was the perfect choice for your photos. I'm not a coffee drinker but I love the smell of it so I can envision the aroma in your kitchen when you grind those butter pecan beans. A great snapshot into your life.

Hi ladies.....I wanted to leave a quick note to let you know I'm still here. Unfortunately my Slice broke again so I have been at a stand still without it. I have still been printing my photos and gluing them in place on my pages ...so once I get the Slice back from Making Memories I can get caught up. I actually called M.M. today to see what the status of the repair was...they told me they had found it to be defective & were sending me a new machine. So glad about that....I love the machine but don't want one with recurring issues. MM said that Fed Ex had delivered to my house this morning at 9:15 am with the package being left at my back door. But it was no where to be found. When I called Fed Ex about this they said it was delivered to 19 Prospect St...I live at 18 !!! To make matters worse...there is no 19 Prospect St...no such address. Can it get worse...yup you bet....It rained all day & who knows where this expensive little machine was dropped off & how wet it may be getting. Fed EX is supposed to get back to me once they question the driver as to where it is. So who is at fault here? MM for giving Fed Ex the wrong address....or the driver who left a package at an address that doesn't even exist during torrential downpours? I know for sure I'm not at fault...I just want my machine...without water damage!!!

It was cold, windy, wet and seats up in the nose bleed section but Buckeye football tickets to see the games are a blessing any time. You know in Ohio, Buckeye football is almost a religion. And the game was a shut out. Game was not much of a challenge but I will take it. :)

Last weeks blessing was the opportunity to see a new Blues artist at an old refurbished theater. Ruthie Foster was her name and she was delightful. My six pack friends went with us and we had a great time. So Ruthie was my blessing as her songs were soulful, fun and thought provoking.

Isn't it funny how attached we get to our cars? I love that you've chosen an "old friend" for one of your blessings and reflected on all that you've seen and done together. The photo is terrific and the floral elements in your paper tie in nicely with the natural surroundings in the background of the picture. For a girl who doesn't like pink I'm seeing quite a bit of it here lately...and it looks great. : )

OK gotta get cracking again on my pages. Will have time this weekend as my scrap pack gets together for our monthly crop. But week 42's blessing is an inviting table. I love beautiful table linens. I love nice china, napkins and silverware. I love the old soup toureen my mother-in-law passed on to me. So it was that this weekend family came home for mom's home made chicken noodle soup and a table set with all of the above. In our busy lives when we often eat on the run or at different times, what a blessing it was for us all to sit down to a beautiful and inviting table.

Woo Hoo for you, Donna...both for winning the revolution and for adding another page to your book! What a great gift to win, definitely worth of being a "good thing." I lots of happy scrapbooking in your future thanks to this little machine. And I love your page design. Lots of bright colors say "excitement" and "celebration" in keeping with your theme, and the stars are the perfect accent...as in "thank your lucky stars." What a fun layout...keep 'em coming!

This weeks blessing started in June. My dear friend (one of the 6 pack) Bonita, graduated from college with her first degree. She is 55 and I am so proud of her. Her husband and I threw her an outside picnic party in June. I was the photographer but did not get the photos printed until recently because of other projects I was working on (DC, Road Trip, Gratitude). Anyway, I finally got her mini album finished in time to give it to her this weekend when the 6 of us go to West Virginia to stay in a big cabin and hike in the mountains for 4 days. It will be a surprise because she does not know I am making this for her. Making a scrapbook for anyone is truly a labor and gift of love. And so it is with Bonita.

Well, my blessing last week was the opportunity to give. The last Saturday in September is devoted to a crop called Scrap Pink. We all pay to crop 15 hours, eat, raise money through sponsors, raffles and purchases for Cancer Research. It's a great opportunity to raise money for a great cause while catching up on projects and have fun with our scrapping friends too. So that was my blessing for the week.

Awesome, Donna! And congratulations...not only on getting started but on creating such a beautiful cover. I love the shape, too! Your bracket edges add such interest to your project, and the large scallops compliment them nicely. How cool that you left the chipboard natural as the brown and red go really well with it. You've got a great start, girl...I'm looking forward to seeing more.

I had so many wonderful adventures while I was gone to Korea and several revolved around food. Everything was either way too hot with red pepper paste, slimy, smelly, unable to be identified, or if it was identified, you did not want it: i.e. eel, dog, beef intestines, octopus, squid. So needless to say I had some food issues. This last weekend a close friend of mine invited Phil and I to a welcome home all-American dinner of fried chicken, cole slaw, mashed potatoes, corn, and good old apple pie for dessert. What a friend. So that was my blessing for the week,,,,home made apple pie. It really is the little things that bring smiles to our faces and make our hearts sing.

Nothing wrong with edible blessings, especially when it's basil. Yours looks healthy and lush, too...I can almost smell it.The red paper is the perfect, not only because it's a complimentary color but the pattern looks farm-like or country market. And your ladybug is such a fun extra. I know you're happy to be all caught up...just think what a treasure this book is going to be.

I totally agree with what you've written, Donna...I have something similar on my list of yet-to-be-recorded blessings. And your photo is a beautiful capture of that sentiment. The colors in your paper compliment the photo nicely, and I really like your die cut shape. The flowing lines reinforce the gentle curves of the mountains and the sense of calm about the scene. What a pretty page!
