Long time, I know. But you guys are never far from my thoughts. Same with the whole concept of watching for my blessings and remaining grateful.
It has been an extremely stressful year, and maintaining a focus on being grateful has certainly helped to get through it.
I have maintained journal notes and photos throughout the year. And, I have peeked in here from time to time for inspiration. Hoping to have some quiet time over the holidays to transform everything into layouts, and really go through the photos and discussions.
I just wanted to drop in and let you all know that I am thinking of you, and wishing you all the best Holidays ever!

Ummm...I'm not sure what's under that golden crust but it looks good! With cold weather upon us, I find myself drawn to comfort foods, too. The red in your patterned papers really directs the eye right to your beautiful photo, and I like how you used the "white" space of the bowl to hold the word "enjoy." Everything feels so balanced and pulled together...love that.

Your pages are beautiful, as always, Donna. I left you some praise.
I know what you mean about how few weeks we have left. It will seem strange not to be making a gratitude layout every Thursday but I think we can find other ways to still focus on gratitude in our scrapbooking. You seem to be better organized than I am and still turn out layouts in addition to the gratitude ones whereas I haven't been as successful. I'm looking forward to some time to catch up the journaling so my book will be complete and turn a creative eye in some different directions. We'll still be in touch...probably more so as I still feel overwhelmed and can't catch up. Hopefully that will improve after the holidays.

What a sweet photo of you and your sweet dog, Donna. And you're right...there isn't anything quite like that relationship. Our fur-buddies are always thrilled to see us and love us no matter what. I'm glad you included him in your book. Love the colors you chose for the page, too. They are perfect with the colors in the photo and really made it jump off the page. Very nice!

Hi ladies...I'm gradually getting caught up on my pages. I added blessings 41 through 44 tonight and hopefully can make a little more progress this weekend between stacking wood & raking. If I don't talk to you all before then I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

And beautiful pages they are, Donna! The "formula" you've used in your book probably helps you when you fall behind but each page still looks fresh and delightful. I know you're working hard at this time of year...good luck with all that stacking. And Happy Thanksgiving to you and everyone else, too!

One person in each of my 6 pack couples has a November birthday. We celebrate those with a special event each year. I usually cooridnate that. This year we are doing a pizza dinner thanks to the California Pizza Kitchen and a movie at Easton Town Center. Although the celebration may not be unique, it is a time to appreicate how much we cherish our friendship and particularly as we face the probability of more long distance friendships in the near future.

Now I love California Pizza Kitchen so I'd think that would be a wonderful celebration! Any time you spend with close friends, no matter the location, is special. I think you're going to find those friends are just a valued and just as close even though there are more miles between you. It just makes you appreciate them more.

Last weeks blessing was my scrapbook retreat. The Buckeye Scrap Pack (7 og us) got together in a really back woods cabin in Indianna and scrapped and laughed and ate, and shared creativity and movies and friendship for 4 days. It just doesn't get any better than that.

I can just imagine how much fun you had...it sounds delightful. I'm really glad that you and the rest of your group did that. Too often we as women put everyone and everything else first. We need and deserve a little "me" time too. Sounds like a wonderful escape.

OMGosh, where did this year go??? We have less than60 days til the end of the year. It's funny, I have shared my gratitude album with many of my friends. Everyone knows that I am doing it and how much it has meant to me. I just can not believe we only have a few more weeks of formally documenting all that we have to be grateful for...not that it means that I will stop being grateful when this project is done.

I have the same sense of shock as you do, Charlene. This year in particular has gone so quickly. And you'd think with us having a countdown of sorts every week the approaching end wouldn't sneak up on us like it has. I'm with you...I've gained too much out of this project to just abandon it when we roll over the end of the year but it will be nice to shift the creative focus to something new.

LOL, Donna...this cracks me up. I'll bet life is never dull at your house! How fun to appreciate and document his antics...they surely are a blessing. Great color choices as always, and I love that you chose to use a word as your embelishment on this page. The times (and laughs) you're sharing with Jake really are priceless.

What a contrast...your beautiful daughter with her megawatt smile in camo and astride a big piece of military equipment. It makes for a great photo though and you've done a terrific job of highlighting it. I love that you chose brown paper for your die cut embellishment as it draws the eye right to your pretty girl. I know I've said it before but your book is going to be such a treasure.

What a great picture for your fall colors, and look at how tall (and slender) Jake is getting. At least I'm assuming that's Jake. Fall must be awesome in your part of the country. You've picked the perfect papers and simple embellishments to complete your page...but then you always do. Another winner!

Oooh, I'm feeling serene just looking at your page! It's a lovely photo, Donna, but I particularly like the choice of the red paper. Not only does the design compliment the lines and subject matter of the picture but it really brings out the red tones in the fall trees. Such a pretty page.

It's so fun to see your pages, Donna. They're colorful and filled with interesting shapes and texture...a delight for the eye. Red and black is such a striking color combination and you've used it well; it was the perfect choice for your photos. I'm not a coffee drinker but I love the smell of it so I can envision the aroma in your kitchen when you grind those butter pecan beans. A great snapshot into your life.

What an awesome page! I love the photo of your daughter in all her military gear, and you've made such smart choices in the colors and design elements you've chosen...they compliment is perfectly. You have every right to be proud of her...heck, I'm proud of her, too! This might be my favorite of all the pages you've made.

Love your sentiment here; we all should count those who serve our country among our blessings. And having a peek into your daughter's military life via some photos is a blessing, too. When I look at that photo, I see lots of straight lines so I like that you chose some curved ones in your paper and embellishment choices. It's visually very pleasing. Lovely page.

Isn't it funny how attached we get to our cars? I love that you've chosen an "old friend" for one of your blessings and reflected on all that you've seen and done together. The photo is terrific and the floral elements in your paper tie in nicely with the natural surroundings in the background of the picture. For a girl who doesn't like pink I'm seeing quite a bit of it here lately...and it looks great. : )

I'm so excited for you; nothing like the smell and feel of a new car...and this one's a beauty! Good for you for choosing a hybrid; with as many miles as you drive each week, you're bound to enjoy a savings on gas. And I love the page. There's enough green to support your title but a nice mix of other colors to bring out that lovely color in your new car. Allowing the die cut to bleed off the edge of the page is very effective here. Two thumbs up!

Life has been entirely too crazy the last six weeks. I'm behind on my pages, late updating things here and just generally behind on way too many things in my life. But....optomist that I am, I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel. It could be a train but I hope it might be time to catch up. I owe plenty of e-mails and don't want to lose the connection I've made with friends here. Just hang in there with me...I hope to have things back under control soon.

I have posted blessings 37 through 40 and have the next few started. I'm so glad I decided to keep my pages all in the same format for this book. .It makes it easier to get caught up when I fall behind. I have so enjoyed doing these page & seeing everyone elses pages along he way. I think I may do another project next year. Not sure quite what yet...maybe just a photo a week glimpse at 2010. Or maybe a month recap with photos. Anyone have any good ideas?
