Why Slice?
Donna, you're a girl after my own heart as I felt the same way about the Slice. So far I've resisted but I'll be watching this thread and waiting for you to add your review after you've used it more. I could also be convinced I need a Cricut with the SCAL software so I could cut all the fonts I've amassed, but again I haven't fully rationalized that purchase. Now I'm *really* interested in seeing what you create.

I finally got started!
And you're off to a great start, Erika. I love what you've done with your bright and fun colors. As I told you in the comment on your blog, it tells me a lot about your love for life. Thanks for linking your blog here and I hope you'll be able to post them in the gallery so others will find them in case this thread gets buried.
You (and Pat and anyone else who's feeling the same) shouldn't be so hard on yourself about your progress. This isn't a race and there are no gratitude police to rush you along. It's a journey...a process, if you will. And if you're thinking about gratitude, then you're on your way. Don't stress over it...you can move along at your speed on this trip.

Help, Ideas please
Ooohhh...that sounds like a great album, one that would really get your creative juices flowing. And I'm always interested in anything that might be travel related so I'll have to keep an eye out for it.
How different do you want to go? I'd be tempted to look for linen or canvas made to go in a printer and do a photo or poem on it then stitch it to the felt page. You could also create a pocket using fabric, again sewn to the felt, and tuck photos or journaling tags in it. I haven't seen them but Donna Downey has a line of fabric embellishments through Prima...look at those to see if they might work or if they spur ideas for something similar you could make yourself. Or you could just mount photos or journaling on cardstock tags, thread a ribbon through the hole, and then either sew them to the felt or punch holes in the felt and tie them on.
OK...I'm officially jealous that you have stores near you with cool products like this. You definitely need to figure out how to share photos of your project when you get it done. I'm so intrigued and eager to see what you do with it. I need to come hang out and go shopping with you and your buddies!

Introduce Yourself!
Hey, Lisa TX. I'm a cross stitcher, too. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be enough time to do that and paper crafting and the paper stuff seems to be winning lately. I do miss the rhythm of needle and thread through fabric - it's very soothing and a great time to meditate.
Glad to see you are making time for yourself again.
Pat
